CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with Mr. Rajesh Goenka, CEO – Rashi Peripherals Limited

Q1. How do you see the current trends in the IT distribution industry evolving over the next few years, particularly with the rapid adoption of digital technologies and the increasing demand for advanced IT solutions?

Rajesh Goenka: With the government’s emphasis on digitization to bring efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness in deliverables, especially with a focus on data localization, all third-party reports indicate that the ICT market will continue to grow at a double-digit rate in the coming years. Some product segments may see a decline, but new and more techno-commercial products and solutions will replace them, driving business opportunities for the ICT community.

We Indians are adaptive to the latest technology, making implementation fast and easy. According to a report by Jefferies’ Equity Research titled “Powering Data Centers,” data center capacity is projected to grow at over 50% CAGR. This growth necessitates a significant rise in power generation and T&D investments, expected to increase 2.2 times to $280 billion by 2030. This will provide immense opportunities for the ICT industry.

Q.2 Can you share more about how RP Tech is leveraging new technologies to enhance its operations and service offerings? What technologies are you implementing, and what impact have they had on your business so far?

Rajesh Goenka: Being a value-added distributor, our core competency is to bring new products and technologies to every nook and corner of India. We currently cater to over 9,900 customers in 705 towns in India through our strong distribution network of 51 branches, 50 service centers, and 63 warehouses. This vast distribution infrastructure is only possible with a solid technology architecture. Rashi Peripherals (RP Tech) was one of the first companies to implement the SAP ERP system almost 15 years ago, and our entire business operations run on SAP HANA. Additionally, we are implementing CRM across all sales functions, which will empower our field sales force with instant techno-commercial data.

We constantly upgrade our solutions portfolio to introduce the latest products and technologies. For years, we have upgraded our products from monitors to large format displays. We commenced the embedded division with the distribution of chips and recently launched a full-fledged Embedded Lab in Bangalore. From selling plain server solutions, we have now moved to the distribution of server solutions required to build AI data centers. This technological upgrade brings immense opportunities for RP Tech as well as the entire ICT ecosystem.

Q.3 RP Tech has established several strategic partnerships with leading global IT brands. Can you elaborate on how these partnerships have contributed to your company’s growth and innovation? Are there any upcoming collaborations we should look out for?

Rajesh Goenka: We have announced strategic partnerships with several global technology brands. We continuously strive to add new products and technologies to meet the growing market demands.

Q4. RP Tech has been expanding its market reach across India. What are your plans for further market penetration, and how do you intend to leverage emerging opportunities in the Indian IT sector?

Rajesh Goenka: RP Tech believes that being close to target customers gives us better business prospects. Therefore, we are the only value-added distribution company in India, which has a distribution network of 51 branches + 50 service centers + 63 warehouses. We will continue to expand our reach across geographies. As part of this initiative, we recently launched the Channel Business Forum (CBF), where we are reaching out to channel partners in non-RP Tech branch locations.

Q.5 With the growing importance of AI-driven data centers, how is RP Tech positioning itself in this space? What are the key initiatives and strategies you are focusing on to capitalize on the rising demand for AI-optimized data centers?

Rajesh Goenka: RP Tech believes that being close to our target customers gives us better business prospects. Therefore, we are the only value-added distribution company in India with a distribution network of 51 branches, 50 service centers, and 63 warehouses. We will continue to expand our reach across geographies. As part of this initiative, we recently launched the Channel Business Forum (CBF), where we are reaching out to channel partners in non-RP Tech branch locations.
